an offering

“Let the beauty we love be what we do.

There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.

Don’t go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.

Don’t go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill

where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.

Don’t go back to sleep.”

  1. well, i do feel like i am waking up from a dream. i read rumi’s words, your selection three times with no pausing in between… i ususally want to sink back into my dream, but i can never go back, so it does seem right to be aware, awake. but i don’t wanna!!!!! 🙂

  2. How did you take that picture? It’s so soft and beautiful, just like the dawn in the poem. 🙂

  3. julie: I put my camera much too close to a flower. I wanted to see what it would look like.
