beauty in the ordinary

I spent the afternoon touring Pittock Mansion with fellow photographers Robin and Scott.

My favorite parts of the mansion were the sleeping porches (now I want a sleeping porch), the bathrooms (simple and beautiful) and the kitchen/pantries (I also want an old-time stove).

I think this is my favorite shot from today. It reminds me of my tag-line – beauty in the ordinary. It was so striking that I was almost tempted to set up a similar display in my kitchen. Not to use, of course. Just to admire.

I will not in any way be upset or offended if you don’t want me to do this! 🙂
