when the tide is right

We hiked along the beach to Hug Point on Saturday. As I made my way around the point on the rocky outcroppings, I noticed a family peering into the tide pools, camera in hand. The little girl was saying, “Now, let’s find one that I can hold!” I wandered over to see what they were looking at.

It was starfish! Purple starfish! Clinging to the rocks as the waves crashed over them.
